Project: Milling on Paige Mill Road Reconstruction
Page Mill Road features eleven tight switchback turns on the winding and hilly route connecting Palo Alto, California, to the coast. The Page Mill Road Safety Improvements project included the resurfacing and reconstruction of this road to improve the safety of each turn for motorists and the many bicyclists that traverse the pass each day.
PRS partnered with Teichert Construction to complete the 2” milling and overlay in multiple sections within about a 10-day window. The narrow road and tight traffic closure allowances proved to be a logistical challenge. To make the most efficient use of time, our operator stayed out ahead of the paving crew with his Wirtgen 210 cold planer so both phases of the project could run in tandem.
PRS and Teichert were able to wrap up the project ahead of schedule and with zero safety incidents together.
