• • Slurry seal is a mixture of aggregate, engineered asphalt emulsion, mineral filler and water combined in specified ratios according to a laboratory mix design formula.  Engineered asphalt emulsions act as the binder holding together the specified aggregate gradation to seal, protect and extend the life of the existing asphalt pavement surface.
  • Aggregates are available in Type I, II and III. Type I is a fine aggregate used in parking lots and residential areas. Type II is used in residential neighborhoods, collector streets and arterial streets. Type III is a course aggregate used on high traffic arterial streets and highways. The aggregate must be crushed, properly graded, clean and durable to meet all specifications.
  • Asphalt emulsions of varying compositions and polymer loading are designed to be long lasting and durable. Using a quick set emulsion allows application of slurry seal in a wide range of temperatures and environments. The asphalt emulsion not only binds the aggregate together, it seals the binds the slurry seal to the existing surface while protecting it from the harsh elements that cause early failures.
  • 100% RAP (Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement) Slurry Seal is equivalent to a Type II aggregate. It provides 100% of the performance and lifespan of a conventional aggregate while utilizing 100% recycled asphalt in place of the aggregate.

• As with a standard slurry seal, Micro Surfacing is a mixture of aggregate, engineered asphalt emulsion, mineral filler and water. However, the aggregate specifications require a higher quality aggregate and the asphalt emulsion is engineered to be faster setting and designed to “stack aggregates” 2 or 3 times thicker of an application where needed. The result is a smooth surface and an extension of pavement life by 5 to 10 years.
• Micro Surfacing is available in Type II and III. It is designed for high traffic areas and can be applied at night.
  
• When your pavement is rutted because of heavy traffic, Micro Surfacing may be the answer.

• • Chip seal is an application of a binder, emulsion or hot applied liquid asphalt, covered by an even application of clean graded aggregate. The binder is a flexible surface sealer and the aggregate supports the traffic to provide a great preservation treatment to existing asphalt surfaces. Modified binders may consist of latex modified emulsions or rubberized liquid asphalt. A successful treatment for over 100 years, chip seals have continued to improve with better binder, higher aggregate quality and more consistent and computerized application equipment.

• • Cape seals are any form of chip seal covered by any form of slurry seal or micro surfacing.  A quality cape seal can add years of life to pavements that are deteriorated far beyond the typical condition for standard preservation treatments.
